Parents

At Woodlands, we know that children learn best when families and staff work closely together and so are committed to working together to support our children and their families.

By staying connected, sharing information, and supporting learning at home, parents play a vital role in helping their children feel confident, safe, and ready to succeed. We value every family and are committed to working together to give all our children the best possible start.

Communication with our staff
At Woodlands, we have an ‘open door policy’. If you need to speak to a teacher or other member of staff, you can call the office to make an appointment or speak to the teacher at the end of the day and they will agree a time to see you. We are always happy to talk to you about difficulties or concerns your child has or if you have any information which you think would be good for us to know.

Parent’s evening
During the autumn term, you will be invited in to talk about how your child has settled in to their new class and the progress they are making.

During this time, you will have a chance to see some of your children’s work & discuss this with them. In the spring term, we have another parents evening with a short progress report. This meeting is designed to talk about your child’s progress and if there is anything they need to work on to support their learning.

A written report is sent home at the end of the summer term.

Weduc is our school app what we use to share all school information- this includes messages/ homework and key dates. Please ensure you have signed up and you check it regularly as it is updated all the time.

If you have any issues with Weduc, please contact the office who will happily help you.
